This role as Operations Network Specialist is a central part of the IT Operations team. The purpose of the role is to ensure stable, secure and efficient operation, maintenance and development of the company's network infrastructure and connectivity services. This includes LAN, WAN, wireless networks, firewalls, load balancers and network services running on-premise, in public cloud environments, as well as solutions provided by external partners. The role entails a high degree of technical expertise, proactive problem solving and a focus on network automation.

Join our IT team that designs, builds and operates the network infrastructure that support Aller Media’s different business units across the Nordics.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will range from L2/L3 support, designing, and operating the network infrastructure that drives our business:

• Ensure daily operation and performance of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless infrastructure.

• Perform planned maintenance, updates, firmware upgrades and patching of network equipment.

• Monitor network health, performance, bandwidth utilization and availability

• Handle and analyze network logs, packet captures and traffic flows

• Identification, analysis and resolution of network-related problems and incidents across the infrastructure.

• Install and configure new network hardware, software and services in accordance with best practices and company standards

• Design and implement network segmentation, VLANs and routing policies

• Manage VPN solutions and secure remote access

• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for network topology, configurations and processes

• Manage and configure cloud networking resources (VPCs, VPNs, peering connections)

• Implement and maintain network security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS and access control lists

• Work with Infrastructure as Code principles for network configuration management

• Be part of the On-Call team to handle incidents outside working hours.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience from a similar role

• Strong networking fundamentals ((Fortinet, Cisco)

• Deep knowledge of enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies

• Solid experience managing Enterprise Firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco)

• Solid experience managing Enterprise Wireless Solutions (Cisco Meraki)

• Practical experience managing Cloud Networking (Azure VNet, AWS VPC GCP VPC)

• Solid experience with Fortinet SD-WAN solutions

• You are fluent in one more Nordic language(s) (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) and professional English

• Proactive and a “keep-it-simple” mindset

• CCNP and/or NSE certifications or equal level of expertise
